Martial Arts for Kids & Juniors

Martial Arts for
Kids & Juniors

Developing coordination, flexibility, strength and mobility are a primary focus throughout our lessons, along with building determination and resilience. We vary our lesson content to keep the students engaged and stimulated, all the while having fun and learning.

Our lessons also include bullying awareness and personal safety. We love seeing students grow in confidence and self-assurance.

Techniques based on the principles of Jujutsu are slowly practiced. For this age group, we start to bring in some more advanced pad and ground work (though no previous experience required).

A typical class consists of a warm up, mobility drills, striking practice on pads and self defence techniques.

Why Martial Arts ?

Martial Arts Helps With...

Self-Discipline

Martial arts helps teach students the art of self-discipline. Martial arts teaches the restraint and patience required to work and accomplish goals.

Setting Goals

Goal setting is a fantastic way to focus and achieve positive outcomes. Martial arts helps students with self-improvement in a fun supportive environment.

Listening

Listening skills are key in martial arts in order to properly follow the instructor's guidance. Students get to practice listening one-to-one as well in groups, and demonstrate or try out the moves they have learned.

Geting Active

Our lessons help our students get away from screens and sofas by encouraging them to be more physically active whilst having a fun and sociable time. Learning martial arts is a full body workout for both body and mind

Respect

Martial arts teaches students appropriate respect for themselves and others.

Increasing self-esteem and confidence

When a student masters a new skill or move it boosts their confidence and provides a real sense of achievement. Working their way up through the ranks shows that commitment and hard work pays off, and they have something to be confident about.

Conflict Resolution

A common misconception of martial arts is that it promotes aggressive behavior but in fact it is quite the opposite. It teaches students peaceful, non-violent resolution skills and emphasises that physical altercations must be avoided unless being attacked or physically assaulted.
