At Honryu Martial Arts, we strive to provide our students with the best martial arts experience possible. Our classes are designed to help our students build self-confidence and self-discipline while learning the art of self defense. Our teachers specialize in both armed and un-armed techniques, and as such, we offer a unique and comprehensive martial arts experience. Our classes provide an opportunity to learn striking, punching, kicking, joint locking/manipulation and throwing, as well as the usage of traditional Japanese weapons such as the Katana, Rokushaku-bo and Hanbo.
Our style of martial art traditionally wears a black gi (training suit). Most participants usually wear a plain black t-shirt or rash guard under their gi top, solid colour socks or tabi are recommended. For your first session we recommend a t-shirt and loose fitting trousers or something that you can move and stretch in. Please bring a drink!
